John Hasell Map Collection This is the complete nine-volume set of maps covering what are now the CRD (Capital Regional District) parklands as well as areas north of the Malahat. The maps were compiled by the noted hiker, adventurer and cartographer John Hasell (1930-2011) and his Wednesday Wonderers hiking group.

The Summitpost pages for the CRD contain useful descriptions of the trails, peaks and flora in our area. Note that the links, which appear to be copied from a defunct scouting association website, do not work.

Trailpeak has good trail descriptions for more than 100 hikes on southern Vancouver Island (as well as the rest of BC), though some of the information is out of date now.
