Hike Trip Info

Equipment required: Hiking boots, appropriate clothing, daypack, water and a lunch/snack are required for each hike.

Covid-19: The health of club members is paramount. Our club policy is attached here: OCV COVID Policy.

Trailheads: If you’re new to the club, or will be participating on a hike with which you are not familiar, you will find directions to the trailheads by clicking on this link: Directions to OCV Trailheads.

Trailhead Arrival: Please arrive at the meeting place at least 5 minutes before the stated departure time.

Smoking: No smoking is permitted during transportation to a hike or during a hike.

Dogs:  You are asked to leave your dog/s safely at home.

Membership: Those wishing to become members are asked to submit a completed FMCBC Waiver and a Membership Application along with the payment required. Go to the ‘Membership’ page.

Trips & Outings: The Club typically organizes two or three trips each year. Past trips were often camp-outs while more recent trips have involved staying at commercial accommodation. Upcoming trips will be announced months in advance. 

Areas visited in the past include:  Waterton National Park, Glacier National Park, Banff National Park, Yoho National Park, Manning Park, Cathedral Park, Whistler-Squamish area, Mt Baker, Mt Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park, and Bend (Oregon) area, Mt. Arrowsmith, Strathcona Park, Saltspring Island, Galiano Island, Quadra Island, Bamfield and Pacific Rim National park, Mount Washington, Winthrop in Washington State, Maui and Palm Springs.
