Liz capably led 3 of us on a beautiful hike up the east side and down the west side of Mount Braden and Castle Peak. Delicate early spring windflowers were showing themselves in pinks, reds, blues, and brilliant yellows; and wrens sang their melodic songs. On our coffee break the loudest thing we could hear was a bee buzzing the manzanita bushes. Liz summoned good weather and even arranged for a majestic bald eagle to perch for a great photo op. We all agreed that we deserved a beer at the end; some of us probably had one!
